About

Alex Fleetwood

I work at the inflection point of new platforms and technologies, translating emerging capabilities into products and companies.

I founded and led Hide&Seek, which put games into cultural institutions and public spaces, working with then-nascent technologies like smartphones, GPS and custom hardware. That led to Sensible Object, which developed physical-digital games sold in Apple Stores worldwide, won multiple design awards, did pioneering work in voice AI, and exited to Niantic. Beasts of Balance, our flagship product, still delights players ten years after launch.

At Niantic, I served as the London Head of Studio, working with advanced AI and AR research teams to translate research into gameplay. After some time out consulting and advising companies including Meta and Yoto, I joined Vaire Computing, a frontier compute startup. I was the first non-engineering hire, working closely with the founders and engineering leadership to productise Vaire's technology and build a pipeline of interest with hyperscale, enterprise and sovereign customers.

The work I'm most interested in now is at the intersection of frontier AI, sovereign compute, and the UK startup ecosystem. The rate of innovation is extraordinary, the capital and commitment to building a sovereign inference stack is emerging, and there is a short window to build the UK's capabilities. I'm not interested in watching that window close.

I advise a small number of founders at seed and Series A. I bring product leadership, GTM methodology, and a creativity and taste threshold that I think is rare in deep tech.

If you have a world-beating technology and you need to find a path to product and scale, drop me a line.
